SPRING UPDATES
THE ICE IS OUT! Well, it has been out for a few weeks actually, and estimates of how much earlier the ice left Cathance Lake this Spring than other Springs vary from a couple of weeks to 24 days! Not swimming temperature yet...but definitely ice-free.
Just a few updates from our CLA Board of Directors:
-Renewed or new membership stands at 82 and that includes 8 gift memberships. Our 2011 membership total was 115, so we still have a ways to go. Kathy Hull would be pleased to accept your dues and renewal sheet. Her address again is 793 Cooper Highway, Cooper, ME 04657.
-The Courtesy Boat Inspection Grant has been submitted to DEP. We should hear this month how much we will be awarded to run the CBI program this summer. Karen Holmes will be the coordinator of CBI. One advantage of this is that Karen is a year round resident of Cooper and so she is there to start the CBI program earlier than our usual July date. Karen is excited to do that, so this year our Courtesy Boat Inspection Program will begin June 1st. More on that later in our Spring Newsletter which will go out in mid-May.
-A reminder that our summer activities' dates have been scheduled and those that will be held at the Grange/Community Center have been confirmed. More on these events again, will be in our Spring Newsletter. But our Board thought that if you are planning when you will be on the lake, knowing at least the confirmed dates might be helpful.
Look for more updates from us soon, and our newsletter in May. Our Cathance Lake Association Board of Directors.
